 gn\nEngineering Symposium-day lunch. This year is extra special: the\ndepa
 rtment was officially formed in 1968\, so it's their 50th Birthday\nthis y
 ear!\n\nJoin us for a complimentary lunch (and maybe a bit of birthday ca
 ke)\,\nexclusively for systems design engineering alumni\, where Dr. Ning
 \nJiang [/systems-design-engineering/node/613]\, a recently hired\nprofess
 or in Systems Design and the Director of the Waterloo\nEngineering Bionics
  Lab\, will speak on cutting-edge research in the\narea of human-machine i
 nterfaces. Indeed\, such interfaces have a very\nlikely possibility of aff
 ecting nearly all of us\, embedded in every\ncorner of our society: at wor
 k\, at home\, on the road\, in classrooms\,\nhospitals\, and gymnasiums. S
 uch human-machine interfaces can be\nalready found in a vast array of diff
 erent sectors including\nmanufacturing\, rehabilitation\, fitness tracking
 \, office ergonomics\,\nentertainment\, law enforcement\, and defense\, in
  the form of\nprostheses\, orthoses\, wearable fitness bracelets\, sensori
 zed garments\,\nand exoskeletons.\n\nFollowing lunch and the research over
 view of Professor Jiang\, you will\nbe invited to the System Design Capst

 re you can spend the rest of the afternoon (or as\nmuch time as you'd like
 ) connecting with current 4th year students who\nwill display their design
