Chasing Ice

Systems design alumnus, David Cornfield, has produced a film, Chasing Ice; which follows acclaimed photographer James Balog on an epic journey as he deploys time-lapse cameras at glaciers around the world. His hauntingly beautiful videos compress years into seconds and capture ancient mountains of ice in motion. His revolutionary imagery reveals ice disappearing at a breathtaking rate. Traveling with a team of young adventurers across the brutal Arctic, Balog risks everything in pursuit of the biggest story facing humanity.

Systems Design student Nicole Simone is one of eight University of Waterloo recipients of the Ontario Professional Engineers Foundation for Education Undergraduate Scholarships
