The Canadian Open Data Experience (CODE) Hackathon.

The University of Waterloo Stratford Campus is excited to be an official hub for The Canadian Open Data Experience (CODE) Hackathon.  CODE is the first national Open Data hackathon in Canada – a 48 hour competition where participants compete to build the best app utilizing federal government data from the Canadian Open Data Portal (http://www.data.gc.ca).

Luke Donald and SYDE Prof. John McPhee Join aboutGolf’s Board of Innovation.

aboutGolf, Limited, a world leader in golf simulator and performance technology, announces two notable additions to its expert panel comprising the Board of Innovation – Luke Donald, Professional Golfer, and John McPhee, Mechanical Engineer and Sports Engineering expert. As authorities in their chosen professions, Donald and McPhee offer valuable knowledge and originality to the established board, which serves an advisory role regarding new product development, prototype feedback and market opportunities.

Iron Ring Celebrations on Friday February 7, 2014 by the Systems Design Engineering students.

Our students decorated the 6th floor of E5 as a Zoo. One room was an aquarium, one was the reptile room. It was so creative and good clean fun.

Systems Design Engineering researcher gets a innovation award

The University of Waterloo, Maplesoft, and Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada are the recipients of a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Synergy Award for Innovation, which recognizes their success in collaborating on the model-based design and control of automotive systems that improve vehicle safety and comfort while reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
