Participants needed for research in semi-autonomous driving performance

Drivers between the ages of 18 to 24 and 35-55 with a G or G2 driver's license and at least one year of driving experience are invited to participate in a research study on driving performance in a semi-autonomous vehicle simulator.

Loran scholarship winner chooses systems design

Incoming engineering student starts his studies at Waterloo backed by a $100,000 scholarship

For the second year in a row, a winner of a prestigious national scholarship has chosen to study systems design engineering at the University of Waterloo.

Malik Dahel of Montreal started his academic career at Waterloo Engineering this fall as a 2021 Loran Scholar backed by up to $100,000 over four years for living expenses, tuition, summer work opportunities and other benefits.

Researchers have made a key advancement in the development of technology to automatically analyze video of hockey games using artificial intelligence.

Engineers at the University of Waterloo combined two existing deep-learning AI techniques to identify players by their sweater numbers with 90-per-cent accuracy.
