The Hagey Lectures are the premier invitational lectures at the University of Waterloo. Established in 1970, the series honours the contribution of Dr. J. G. Hagey, one of the founders and the first President of the University of Waterloo (1957-1969).

The annual lectures are jointly sponsored by the Faculty Association and the University of Waterloo, and are administered by a faculty committee jointly selected by the Vice-President, Academic and the President of the Faculty Association.

Presented by Professor Sir Michael Marmot. 

Sir Michael Marmot has led research groups on health inequalities for over 35 years, and is widely seen as a leader in the study of the social determinants of health.
