Box Office
All clients of the Humanities Theatre are required to have ticket sales for their event managed by the Humanities Theatre Box Office.
On tickets sold, there is CIF and a 10% handling fee, both of which the Theatres retain.
CIF - Capital Improvement Fund, the amount per ticket is based on the ticket price and can be found on the fee schedule.
As far as ticket pricing goes you can either give us ticket prices based on the amount that you wish to retain, we will add our fees on to that or you can tell us what you would like the customer to pay, and we will break it down to let you know what you will retain from each ticket price.
As an example, $15 =$12.14 (to LESSEE, includes HST) + $1.50 CIF (to THEATRE) + $1.36 handling (to THEATRE)
Length of Shift/Call
You will find the minimum call length detailed for each position on the fee schedule. Once the minimum call is surpassed, billing will be based on hours worked.
All employees are entitled to a 1-hour meal break after 5 hours worked. There will be no stage access while our technical staff are on a meal break.
We would like to encourage all our clients to plan meal breaks into their schedules and only move to the following options if necessary. Should you not wish to take a full hour meal break there are the following 3 options.
1. You can shorten the meal break to 30 mins (must still happen on or before 5 hours worked)
a. by ordering and providing staff with a meal of their choice. Everyone touches base at the beginning of the day to choose something from Skip or Door Dash.
b. by paying a $50 per staff member meal penalty
2. adding an additional technician for a 3-hour minimum to rotate 1 hr breaks with the 3 technicians and continue working through.
After 8 hours worked staff will be billed one and one-half (1½) times the contracted rate.
Staff working on statutory holidays will be billed at two times the contracted rate.
A minimum of 11 hours of overnight rest is required from one day to the next. Infringing on this overnight rest period will result in a charge of $50 per staff member affected.
