Anabaptist Political Theology: A Conversation with Joan and Oliver O'DonovanExport this event to calendar

Thursday, October 12, 2017 10:00 AM EDT

poster with text about the eventPlease join us for what promises to be an enriching and important conversation with Joan Lockwood O'Donovan and Oliver O'Donovan on Thursday, October 12th at 10am in Boardroom II at the Toronto School of Theology. The jumping off point for our conversation will be A. James Reimer's book entitled Toward an Anabaptist Political Theology: Law, Order, and Civil Society. The book was prompted in part by a challenge from Oliver O'Donovan that led Reimer to develop

... a more honest theology of law and civil institutions and their function in helping shape and preserve human and nonhuman life in a fallen world, as mandated in the Christian doctrines of creation, redemption, and reconciliation.

Familiarity with the book itself is not a prerequisite so please do join us for what promises to be a very stimulating discussion.
