Mennonite World Conference is in the final year of a dialogue on baptism with the Lutheran World Federation and the Vatican's Pontifical Council for the Promotion of Christian Unity. A new climate of trust has allowed these bodies to engage one of the most painful divisions on the ecumenical agenda. All three delegations have prepared drafts of a final statement assessing the progress we have made on mutual understanding and acceptance. I, John Rempel, was asked to be the drafter of the Mennonite statement.
