News Release: The Toronto Mennonite Theological Centre has ceased its regular programming. Grebel will remain an affiliate member of the Toronto School of Theology. Some other TMTC activities will likely continue under the leadership of other institutions. There will be final virtual event in Fall 2023. Mennonite Scholars and Friends Forum 2021 Recording Available

The Mennonite Scholars and Friends Forum, which takes place annually in conjunction with the American Academy of Religion and Society of Biblical Literature meetings, took place virtually on Friday, 19 November 2021. The virtual forum was followed by an in person reception for those present at the meetings in San Antonio.

The theme for this year's forum was "Women, Liberation, and the Bible."  The forum inculded the following presentations:

  • Jackie Wyse-Rhodes, Bluffton University, “Eglon’s Fatness: An Experiment in Ethical Interpretation”
  • Noemi Vega Quiñones, Southern Methodist University, “Reclaiming Consent: A Latinx Ideological Hermeneutic on Rahab in the Wakes of #MeToo and #ChurchToo”

The presentations and Q&A sessions were recorded and we are pleased to make those available online.
