Internal and Leadership Communications

The Internal and Leadership Communications team is responsible for developing the University of Waterloo's internal communications strategy and positioning, providing advice, writing/editing services, and developing and executing communications plans for internal audiences on broad university strategy, performance, programs, and policies.

The goal of Internal and Leadership Communications is to increase employee engagement by building community, morale, and commitment, fostering an understanding of the university's aspirations and building support for its continued success.

The Internal and Leadership Communications team is also responsible for ensuring that the public speaking needs of senior University administrators are met with the highest quality of work and timeliness.

The Internal and Leadership Communications team works to increase awareness, understanding, and connection to the university among members of the university community, fostering an internal cultural of connection and shared identity while ensuring that employees are equipped with the tools and information necessary to do their jobs.
