Brandon Sweet has worked at the University of Waterloo since 2001, joining the Marketing and Strategic Communications team in January 2007. As Associate Director, Internal and Leadership Communications, Brandon is responsible for developing the University’s internal communications strategy, crafting and executing communications plans for internal audiences on broad university strategy, programs, and policies. He also guides senior university administration in strategic communications decisions impacting employee engagement and understanding of the university and its goals. He has a supervisory role in ensuring that the communications needs of the university president are met with the highest quality of work.
Brandon also writes and edits the Daily Bulletin, a key university publication that celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2018. An award-winning writer, Brandon’s work has been featured in Today’s Parent, Educated Solutions, The Waterloo Region Record and Tribe Magazine. He has also written more than 300 speeches for members of the University of Waterloo’s senior leadership. Brandon completed his MA in Political Science at the University of Waterloo in 2002.
