AquaHacking Finals in Toronto

Thursday, October 25, 2018 (all day)

AquaHacking 2018 Lake Ontario and BeyondAquaHacking challenges programmers, scientists, marketers, and water experts to develop clean-tech engineering, web and mobile solutions to water issues affecting the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Watershed Basin.

This year, students have been tasked to solve one of the five challenges facing Lake Ontario:

  • Water crisis prediction and adaptation
  • Phosphorus capture and recycling in farming
  • Tackling endocrine-disrupting chemicals
  • Real-time reporting of sewage overflow and untreated sewage spills
  • Supplementary information: Regulatory framework for water

On October 25, as part of Ontario’s Water Innovation Week in collaboration with WaterTAP, at the Design Exchange in Toronto, five teams (including one University of Waterloo team) will compete for a chance at $25,000 in prize money and a spot in a local incubator.

Register to attend the AquaHacking finals today.
