World Water Day 2017

The eighth annual UN World Water Day in Waterloo is on March 22, 2017. This year's theme is wastewater, and the campaign ‘Why waste water?’ is about reducing and reusing wastewater. 

Co-hosted by the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University, this event is a celebration of water which showcases water research at both universities. This year it will be hosted at Wilfrid Laurier. 

World Water Day Schedule of Events

9:00 a.m. – registration begins 

9:30 - 10:20 a.m. – opening remarks with a special announcement from the Water Institute about a new partnership that's going to bring exciting opportunities to University of Waterloo students

10:30 - 11:20 a.m. –  keynote speaker Frank Wolf presenting, "Wild Waters: Advocating for wilderness waterways through adventure"

11:20 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. – research poster presentations

12:00 p.m. –  lunch (available to those who register for World Water Day)

1:00-2:20 p.m. –  panel discussion, "Achievements, challenges, and opportunities in Canada's wastewater system"

2:30 - 4:00 pm. –  research poster presentations and judging 

Happening throughout the day photo contest

4:30 p.m. –  post-conference social
