Retired

University of Guelph

An appreciation

Reid Kreutzwiser retired from the University of Guelph at the end of 2009 after a long and distinguished career in the Department of Geography. Reid is a major part of the reason why the Water Policy and Governance Group (WPGG) exists. He and Rob banded together soon after Rob arrived at Guelph in 1995. They formed the Rural Water Management Group, and then the Guelph Water Management Group. After Rob moved to the University of Waterloo in 2008, Reid became a founding member of the Water Policy and Governance Group. Reid and Rob collaborated on 19 projects, and supervised dozens of graduate students together. Along the way, they built the profile of water governance research in Canada, and had an enormous amount of fun. Ryan joined the Guelph Water Management Group before Reid retired and thus had a chance to enjoy working with him too. Through the Water Policy and Governance Group, Rob and Ryan are carrying on the tradition Reid started. Reid is enjoying a well deserved retirement, but we still miss him.
