This week's seminar is our keynote for the semester! Dr. Jennifer Gardy from the University of British Columbia will be here on Friday, with her seminar taking place from 2:30-3:30 pm in QNC 2502. Please note the room change
 
Dr. Gardy is an associate professor and Canada Research Chair in Public Health Genomics. Her research uses whole-genome sequencing of bacterial and viral pathogens to understand outbreak and epidemic dynamics, with a specific focus on tuberculosis.

Especially for undergraduate and graduate students, the newly formed WatSAM (Waterloo Students and Microbiology) club will be hosting a panel of speakers from multiple disciplines who can tell you how microbiology impacts their field of work, answer your questions, and possibly spark a love for microbial research.
