Daniel Kammen is the James and Katherine Lau Distinguished Professor of Sustainability at the University of California, Berkeley, with parallel appointments in the Energy and Resources Group, the Goldman School of Public Policy, and the department of Nuclear Engineering and a member of AE4H
program.

In this podcast, Steve Hill, CEO of New Hydrogen, interviews Dr. Claudio A. Canizares, a University Professor at the University of Waterloo and Executive Director of the Waterloo Institute for Sustainable Energy (WISE). Dr. Canizares, who holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, is an expert on the integration of renewable energy sources and energy storage into smart energy systems.

The IEEE Kitchener-Waterloo Section PES Chapter, in collaboration with the IEEE PES Ottawa and London Chapters, the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), and the Waterloo Institute of Sustainable Energy (WISE), is hosting a one-day workshop titled: "Facing the Challenges: Achieving Decarbonization Goals for the Electricity Grid in Canada."

 

With Canada's goal of an emissions-free electricity grid by 2035, this workshop will address key challenges and opportunities in the decarbonization journey. This event provides an essential forum for professionals, students, and sustainability advocates to explore the complexities of this critical transition.
