Our research

Description of the research

Fernandes and SteffyStudying healthy aging adults provides a means for enhancing our knowledge about normal aging. This can help inform our understanding of diseases associated with aging.
Many researchers from different fields including cognition, motor behaviours, memory, language, cardio health, among others, conduct studies examining the effects of the normal aging process.

Examples of current research are:

  • Taste perception and cognition in older adults
  • Rehabilitating unilateral neglect
  • The "Voice, Activity, and Location Monitoring for Alzheimer's disease" (VALMA) project
A Waterloo Research in Aging Participants Pool (WRAP) newsletter is distributed frequently to update participants with summaries of recent studies.
