Whether you are seeking to develop core skills to prepare for a supervisory position or to enhance your effectiveness as a current team leader, the Supervision Certificate will help you obtain practical knowledge that can be immediately applied.
The convenient online format enables you to acquire effective skills while eliminating the need for you to be away from work.
Certificate requirements
Complete the following courses to receive the Supervision Certificate.
- Fundamentals of Supervision and Management I
- Fundamentals of Supervision and Management II
- Building Teams that Work
- Leadership
Note: All courses must be taken through Professional Development at the University of Waterloo in order to be eligible for the certificate from Professional Development.
Each course is six weeks long, followed by a two-week period to complete the final exam (online, open book) and you are not required to be online at any specific time. Lessons are released on Wednesdays and Fridays of each week. For planning purposes we suggest setting aside two hour per lesson as a starting point.
To register, click the course links above and select a start date. Instructions on how to access your course will be emailed to you immediately after registration. It is best practice to enrol for no more than two courses with the same start date to achieve the highest learning outcome.
