3. Drupal in the Faculty of Science (Lara Babalola)

Lara presented "Drupal in the Faculty of Science" to the group. The PowerPoint presentation is available on the Web Advisory Committee web page. From the discussion after the presentation: * Drupal does have iCal format capabilities and so far is simple to use with no major difficulties. * Lara has also found Drupal to be a rather easy migration from Contribute, taking Lara and a co-op student approximately 2 months to complete. * A question was raised regarding any possible processes for instructing users. Lara indicated that there is a guide resource for Drupal and consulting is available. Pat also suggested Lynda.com web-based training (account from CHIP). The Waterloo Content Management System (WCMS) Project has a collection of Lullabot training DVDs, which are currently being viewed. They will be available later.

4. Web redesign (Sarah Forgrave)

Information architecture is the main theme focus for the Faculties at the moment. The Waterloo Wordmark downloads and web resolutions are now available. Kelley asked that the wordmarks not be used in print yet. The Waterloo Gotham font is now available, however there seems to be confusion for some users in understanding where and when to use the font. Kevin clarified the use of the Gotham font on websites, and the use of sIFR. See the "sIFR_and_Gotham document" in pdf format on the Web Advisory Committee web page.

5. Web Technology Standards Committee update (Paul Miskovsky)

Currently the committee has eleven members and has held the second meeting and the terms of reference have been produced. The committee will observe, advise and recommend, explore and investigate. Discussion at the meetings focussed on portals and data sharing. The committee has decided to look at calendaring data - what would it look like all in one place; what would be included, etc.

At the next meeting, the committee will invite a staff member from Institutional Analysis and Planning (IAP) to discuss the possibility of obtaining a class schedule feed.

6. DNS Resolution Policy Committee (Terry Stewart)

The Computing Technology and Services Committee (CTSC) gave some additional feedback to the DNS committee, which Terry incorporated into another draft policy. The DNS committee will ratify it first before bringing it back to WAC.

The DNS committee has decided to drop recommendation #3, regarding sub-domains versus folders. This item generated the most comments and concern.

7.Other business

There was no other business.

8. Next meeting - Wednesday, June 17 - 3:00 pm in NH 3004

*Meeting adjourned - 4:15 pm*
