In this issue:
We started, as always, with Web Dev Rev notes: the W3C announced the HTML 5.1 standard; you can create some fancy image effects using CSS; there's a collection of useful YouTube channels for developers and web designers; a way to load polyfills only when you need to; notes on responsive images with srcset and sizes; and finally, a reminder for when we are working on Drupal 8 - anchor links are not currently part of the CKEditor in core.
This week in Web Dev Rev notes: we reviewed the plan for media management in Drupal 8; took the HTML quiz (what was your score?); looked at the winners of the 10K Apart contest; started unfolding critical CSS; noted the "ask me anything" about CSS grid layout; got unstuck on position: sticky; dusted off a form linter; started to understand PHP generators; found out about the ultimate list of developer podcasts; and saw the power of the rgba() colour function in CSS.
