Target audience

University employees who need assistance with their area’s website in the Waterloo Content Management System (WCMS) or who would like to familiarize themselves with the WCMS.

Description

The Drop-in labs are intended to provide assistance with the maintenance or development of your website in the WCMS or to familiarize yourself with the WCMS. As a participant you will have your own computer in the classroom to work from, and training & support assistants will be there to assist with any questions or problems. You are welcome to work on your own website in the WCMS or experiment on one of our training sites. To guide you with trying out the WCMS, printed task assignments are available in the lab.

Registration is not required; participants can drop in for part or all of the session. Computers are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

What people are saying via our survey

The drop-in lab is an incredibly valuable resource, especially for the many staff members who "do the web" as just a small part of their day-to-day responsibilities. It's easy to forget little things, and so helpful to have the lab support.

Instructions were super clear, super fast, and WCMS drop in is always really kind and awesome.

This was so helpful.  I am very happy that this support is provided to staff.

Thanks - this lab is just what we need.

Went with a problem; left with a solution. Thanks!

They took the time to figure it out and to seek help. They were very helpful and followed up with me once they had an answer. Excellent service!

Very helpful!

Had a great experience!  All my questions were answered and then some!  The WCMS drop-in lab is a great resource! Keep up the good work!

I would certainly return if I have more questions as we go.

They were extremely keen to help. They were able to help with all my questions very quickly.

Although the Training and Support Assistants did not know the answer to my questions themselves, they went out of their way to find out.

Given how well the exercises were laid out, I did not need the two assistants' help much. ... That having been said, they were 'there', 'engaged', 'ready to assist' and very 'pleasant and professional'.

The training and support assistants went above and beyond!  I don't think I would've been able to learn half as much as I did if they weren't there.  They were incredibly friendly and helpful and are very good at their job.

They had answers to my dilemmas and were able to assist me with my site, saving me days of work. They were exceptional and I am thrilled with what was accomplished in so short a time.

So glad to have had the awesome help!

I was very pleased with the assistance I received; the staff were very approachable, accommodating, and also very attentive to my needs and follow-up enquiries.
