Hey new Warriors! It's time to save the date for Orientation, get to know the Waterloo Undergraduate Student Association (WUSA), and meet your future classmates.

Waterloo Orientation

We’re planning some fun and exciting virtual experiences to welcome you to the Waterloo family. Attend online Orientation events through August 30 - September 3 to meet your future classmates, learn about your faculty’s unique traditions, and discover all that UWaterloo has to offer. Here are the important details:

  • Registration is required and will open on August 11.
  • There is no cost to participate.
  • International student programming will also run online throughout the week as part of Orientation.
  • Classes start on Wednesday, September 8.

Your Waterloo Undergraduate Student Association (WUSA), is the official collective voice and legal representative of all undergraduate students at the University of Waterloo. Run by students for students, they have been committed to improving the lives of Waterloo undergrads, both in and outside the classroom, since 1967.

They play many roles in your campus experience, from creating a culture of community and belonging through their student-run services, to nurturing your passion through their 200+ clubs. But don't just take our word for it! Celine dishes up the inside scoop in the video below.

Get your WUSA welcome box

WUSA Welcome Box has been prepared for you. All you have to do is sign up and confirm your address before July 24 to get yours! Each item in the box has been carefully selected to represent our campus and student life while remaining practical, useful, and sustainable.

You can expect to receive your WUSA Welcome Box in late-August or early-September depending on your shipping address.

International student travel and quarantine updates

On July 5, 2021 at 12:01 a.m. ET, the Government of Canada introduced new quarantine requirement exemptions for fully vaccinated travellers who meet specific conditions.

 To be considered fully vaccinated in Canada, you must: 

  • receive the full series of an accepted COVID-19 vaccine or a combination of accepted vaccines,  

  • receive your last dose at least 14 days prior to the day you enter Canada,  

  • and you must upload your proof of vaccination in ArriveCAN.   

Fully vaccinated travellers are still required to submit a quarantine plan in ArriveCAN and Portal, as well as meet the entry requirements under the current travel restriction policies.
