Classes begin

Classes begin on Wednesday, September 8, 2021.

International students: Tell us your plans for the fall term

Whether you're staying in your home country, travelling to Canada, or you're already living here, it’s mandatory for all international students to complete a questionnaire before June 23 to tell the University about your plans for fall term.

International students: Apply for your immigration documents

All international students must have a valid study permit before beginning their studies from inside Canada. It's highly recommended that you begin studying with a valid study permit (or study permit approval) to avoid delays or challenges with coming to Canada. If you begin your studies without a study permit approval, there’s no guarantee you’ll be approved in the future to come to Canada.

If you've been accepted into a co-op program, a valid co-op work permit will also be required for all of your work terms during your time at Waterloo. You can apply for a co-op work permit with your study permit application. Learn more about applying for your co-op work permit in this video from current Waterloo student, VishalUse this alternative link if you can't access YouTube.
