This one and a half hour seminar is designed to help graduate students cultivate the negotiation and presentation skills essential for academic and professional success. The event will feature Senior Case Consultant Jeremy De Boer, from the University of Waterloo's Conflict Management and Human Rights Office (CMAHRO), and Deitra Sawh, PhD candidate in Systems Design Engineering, and creator of the seminar 'Six Steps to Selling Yourself'.
The National Conference on Women in Engineering (NCWiE) is an annual conference put on under the Canadian Federation of Engineering Students. Originally, the primary focus of NCWiE was to encourage discussion on the issues of lack of representation of women in the field of engineering (especially at senior leadership levels) and to discuss issues facing women in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields. NCWiE has now expanded to include discussion on all areas of diversity in engineering.
You and your family are invited to join us for a Women in Engineering Information Session designed with your questions and interests in mind.
While you are here; go on a campus tour, visit the residences you're interested in, attend program information sessions, learn about key campus services, and meet with academic and co-op experts. We're looking forward to your visit!

Teaching Techniques to Encourage Women to Persist and Succeed in Engineering
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the current percent of women in undergraduate engineering studies.
- Understand and explain the differences between men and women that result in lower enrolment and retention in engineering.
- Relate literature findings to personal experiences and observations.

Join us on in the evening for a discussion on how to be a good mentor for next term. You'll get a chance to hear from us about what works and what doesn't, and we would love your feedback on how to improve the mentorship program! Ice cream included!
This is not a female exclusive event, come join us males! Everyone is welcome; it can also benefit you if you want to be involved with Frosh Mentoring.
