Welcome Back!

Join us on Thursday September 24th for our Fall 2020 Women in Engineering (WiE) welcome event. This year we're taking things virtual and hosting a night where you can network, make new connections and learn all about the engineering experience at UWaterloo. 

If you're a first-year student, this event is a perfect opportunity to get any questions or advice you might be looking for answered by other WiE peers, faculty and staff.

Our special guest speaker, Tricia Smith, P.Eng. is the Manager of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at WalterFedy. She is a UWaterloo alumni who graduated from the Mechatronics program.

Guides (Ages 9-11) are invited to the University of Waterloo to earn a badge awared by Ontario Network of Women in Engineering (ONWIE). Complete all the requirements through fun and interactive activity stations led by university students and staff. In addition to completing the badge requirements, the guides will also engage with inspiring mentors who demystify the university experience and technology careers.

New term, new opportunities! Women in Engineering is hosting a fun afternoon mixer where female students and female faculty can connect and get inspired over light snacks and refreshments in a casual, stress- free environment.

Feel intimidated? Don't be! We'll have some guiding questions for you, ice breakers, and a chance to network. This is also an excellent opportunity to meet students from other years and streams.
