Badge Day

Girl Guides are invited to the University of Waterloo to earn their  Physics Badge! Complete all the requirements through fun and interactive activity stations led by university students and staff. In addition to completing the badge requirements, the guides will also engage with inspiring mentors who demystify the university experience and engineering careers.

The 1st Palgrave Guide Unit brainstorming the many types of engineers involved in designing an environmentally-friendly vehicle.

Registration

Registration is now closed!

Guiders are invited to register their Girl Guide units for this exciting day. 

To register your unit, there are two important steps:

  1. Complete the information form.
  2. When we receive your completed information form, we will send you a payment instructions. The $15 fee can be paid by cheque or credit card. (The fee includes badges, pizza lunch, and all program materials.)  

What to expect

9:30 - 10:00     Check-in
Each unit will be provided with an envelope to conduct registration. Please place all permission forms in the envelope, and give all participants their name tag. 
10:00 - 10:15

Opening Remarks
A morning snack box will be given to each unit. These boxes will contain nut-free granola bars and juice boxes. 

10:15 - 11:00

First Station
At each station, guides will explore different physics concepts and work towards earning their badges. A detailed schedule will be provide to each unit on the day-of. 

11:05 - 11:50 Second Station
11:50 - 12:35 Lunch 
All registered participants and guiders will receive a free lunch (pizza, juice, and whole apples). Guiders are responsible for their units during this time. 
12:35 - 1:20 Third Station
1:25 - 2:10 Fourth Station
2:10 - 2:45 Fifth Station 
2:50 - 3:15

Closing Remarks
Physics badges and giveaways (provided by ONWiE) will be handed out to the guides. 

Location

Physics Badge Day will take place in the Engineering-5 building. If you are using a GPS to navigate to the building, please use ​263 Philip Street, Waterloo as the address. 

parking pass is available for drop-off and pick-up only. Those parking for longer will be required to pay the daily parking fee. Signage will guide you from the Parking Lot B to the building.
