Our next upcoming event is the Undergraduate Research Symposium in partnership with the Faculty of Science HeforShe. The event is on Tuesday, March 27th from 11am - 4:20pm in STC atrium. Our keynote for this year is Tamar Huggins.

Cheers to Science


Dr. Emily Agard will be our Cheers to Science speaker. Dr. Agard earned a B.Sc. (honours) in Life Sciences from Queen's University and a Ph.D. in Immunology from the University of Toronto. She taught biology at York University and the University of Toronto at Scarborough before joining Ryerson as an Associate Professor. Currently, as Director of SciXchange, she is focused on making science accessible, engaging and inclusive of all groups and is mentor to many youth in the community. Dr.

Professional Development Mixer


Women in Science Society is excited to be hosting our first Professional Development event on the 31st of January, in collaboration with the Centre for Career Action (6 – 8 PM at STC 2002).

During the first hour of the event, the CCA will lead a workshop on:
- Explanation of specific circumstances on graduate school applications (e.g., maternity leave, etc.)
- Marketing ones self on application documents
- Approaching a faculty member to be an advisor
- Steps/considerations in networking
