WS 102: Contemporary Women's Issues

Using race, class, sexuality and gender analysis, the course will introduce students to the systemic inequalities that women experience, especially those who are from marginalized and racialized groups. We will examine how state policies shape and constrain women's identity in Canada. Themes to be included are the legacies of colonialism, household and family forms, paid work, gendered violence, body image, sexuality and reproductive justice.
