Marian Toledo Candelaria completed a Ph.D. in History and Scottish Studies at the University of Guelph in 2018, where she also worked as a Writing Support teaching assistant for the Writing Centre. She also holds an MA in Medieval Studies from King’s College London, a Graduate Diploma in Fashion from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, and a BFA in Fashion Design from the School of Visual Arts and Design of Puerto Rico. She has worked with university students in various capacities, including as a sessional lecturer, a teaching assistant, and in academic publishing. As a Writing and Multimodal Communications Specialist, Marian loves working with undergraduate and graduate students to help them find their voice through the written word. She has experience guiding students through various types of assignments, from undergraduate research essays and graduate theses to lab reports and conference papers. Her main priority is to facilitate writing knowledge acquisition to help students improve their power of expression.
