The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences offers degree programs at both the Master's and Doctoral level.
Our department is also home to the Waterloo Institute for Groundwater Research. We offer a variety of challenging undergraduate programs in Earth Sciences and boast one of the largest graduate student enrolments of any Earth Sciences departments in the country.
Our major areas are in hydrogeology, groundwater modelling and remediation, aqueous, organic and isotope geochemistry, isotope hydrology, atmospheric science, economic geology, mineralogy, petrology, structural geology, engineering geology, geophysics, sedimentology and Quaternary geology.
