What is Paramount Plus?
ViacomCBS replaced CBS All Access with Paramount Plus, a new steaming network like Netflix and Crave. The new service promised an expansion of its on-demand lineup alongside live CBS networks and sports. Paramount Plus will feature 10,000 new TV episodes with additional programs from CBS, BET, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, The Smithsonian Channel, and MTV. New and classic movies from MGM, Paramount, and Miramax will also be available to view as well as Paramount Plus originals viewers will not find anywhere else.
Paramount Plus offers lots of old shows many of us, who are now in our 20’s, 30’s and 40’s, grew up watching such as Jersey Shore, and Star Trek. Reboots of popular shows from our childhood such as iCarly will be making a come back on Paramount Plus, and if you are looking for more nickelodeon classics such as Fairly Odd Parents, SpongeBob, or the Rugrats, you can find them on Paramount Plus too. However, because Paramount Plus is a new streaming platform, and has access to a limited supply of entertainment, it might be difficult to find movies and shows that fit your taste. Paramount offers a one-month free trial for those who might be more skeptical of what this platform has to offer and can cancel their subscription at any time. A fee of $5.99 per month will be applied after the one-month free trial is over.
Is It Worth It?
That depends. Many individuals are happy and prefer to stick with top streaming giants such as Netflix, Disney Plus, Hulu, and HBO as they all offer a variety of movies, shows, and original series. Paramount Plus offers some of the same movies and TV as these other networks, making Paramount more undesirable. Because why pay more for Paramount Plus when you can watch the same movies or shows on a service you already pay for. On the contrary, Paramount Plus is a cheaper alternative to other services. Paramount Plus costs $5.99 per month while Netflix is $8.99 per month and Disney Plus is $7.99 per month. Paramount Plus is also a great service for users who previously paid for CBS All Access as they can continue to watch CBS and various other channels, movies, and TV shows.
