Two funds now supported by Giving Tuesday

We are pleased to share the results of the 2022 Faculty of Health Giving Tuesday campaign, which took place last November. Thank you to all the donors who contributed to our two funds and the team of individuals who supported this campaign.

The new Margaret BurnetIllustration of donors.t Fund raised $16,275 from a total of 75 donors. After 40 years of outstanding career service, Margaret Burnett reitred from the Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences and the Faculty of Health. To celebrate Marg’s tremendous impact, funds are being raised to honour her legacy and achievements and to support graduate students in Kinesiology and Health Sciences. The goal is to endow the fund by raising $50,000 by October 2025.

The Faculty of Health Student Experiential Learning Fund raised $12,985 from 79 donors. This fund is designed to prioritize positions in non-profit and social impact organizations including co-op roles and internships that have been historically unpaid or under-funded compared to work terms for business. The fund is intended to promote innovative thinking among Health undergraduate students.

We also received support to various other Health Funds for a total of $1,675 from six donors.

Overall, the Faculty of Health community rose to the challenge to support our students by raising a total of $30,935. Thank you to the 160 donors who supported Giving Tuesday and the growth of these two funds. We look forward to more excitement and continued growth for the 2023 Giving Tuesday campaign.
