2017 Continuing Education in conjuction with the School's 50th Anniversary celebration

The School of Optometry and Vision Science, University of Waterloo is pleased to present our annual Continuing Education (CE) program on September 22, 23 and 24, 2017, in conjunction with the School’s 50th anniversary celebration. Registration is now open!

The 2017, 50th anniversary, CE weekend will offer a program of contemporary optometric continuing education. Topics include:

  • glaucoma
  • diagnostic imaging
  • low vision
  • myopia management
  • dry eye disease

Again this year, we present the Distinguished Dr. Clair Bobier and Dr. Emerson Woodruff Lectures. 

  • The Bobier lecture will be presented by Dr. John Dowling of Harvard University
  • The Woodruff lecture will be presented by Dr. Susan Vitale, of the National Eye Institute, Bethesda, Maryland

Optometric assistants and staff

The School is pleased to welcome back optometric assistants and staff with their own 1½ day program including a full day of informative lectures on Saturday, September 23.  The 3-hour hands-on workshops for Sunday, September 24, will help new and experienced OAs and staff hone their skills.  All hours for Optometric Assistants Continuing Education are subject to approval for accreditation through the CAO.

Trade Show

The Trade Show and lunch continues to be very well received by both participants and exhibitors alike.  This event held in the Commons will feature a variety of exhibitors highlighting various educational materials and equipment items on Saturday, September 23, from Noon to 1:30pm.
