Making memories at Orientation 2019

Orientation Week 2019 might be over, but the memories and friendships made are sure to last for the next four years and beyond! This year, students spent their week getting to know their classmates at various events, including Tight and Bright Bowling, Ace Ping Pong Lounge, and Canada’s Wonderland.

Orientation Week 2019 included a trip to Canada’s Wonderland.

The first year students were also able to connect with upper year students at the Big Sib BBQ. Each second year student was paired with an incoming first year, to act as a mentor and help the student’s transition into the optometry family.

The first week of school ended with a mystery trip to Treetop Trekking in Brampton, and dinner at the Mandarin! Finally, Orientation Week was capped off with a Semi Formal where all students, upper years and first years were able to dance the night away!

Orientation Week could not have been such a success without the help of our Orientation Week Committee and the staff at WOVS. We especially want to give a huge thank you to Dr. Khan, Marie Amodeo, and Andrea Carthew for all their support and help!

We would also like to thank all our incredible sponsors of Orientation Week this year as we couldn’t have done it without them: CIBC, Essilor, TD, Innova, Labtician Théa, Heine, CooperVision, Lenscan, Lasik MD, TLC Laser Eye Centres, McCray, Zeiss, CORE, University of Waterloo Faculty of Science and Hilco.

A huge final congratulations to the Class of 2023 - we can’t wait to see what you will accomplish!
