Optometry Clerkship Supervisors now have library privileges
By Laura Bredahl
One of the more rewarding activities you can pursue to is to share your understanding of the world with a student. One way a practicing optometrist can do this is through the Optometry Clerkships program at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry & Vision Science (WOVS). Clerkship supervisors are tasked with the responsibility of guiding, observing and assessing our 4th year Doctor of Optometry students’ learning during their external rotations. Given the evidence-based nature of the optometry profession, it is imperative that our clerkship supervisors have access to the latest academic research and resources. To support the work of the clerkship supervisors, the WOVS Witer Learning Resource Centre and UWaterloo Library have worked together to include them within the University of Waterloo community. The new official designation for the clerkship supervisors is External Clinical Instructor. We are excited to announce that our External Clinical Instructors now have access to all of the highly valued information resources and services available through the UW Library (lib.uwaterloo.ca).
Library resources of interest to practicing optometrists:
Of particular interested might be the following:
