St. Paul's Golf Tournament Achieves Milestone

Thanks to the loyal generosity of our alumni and friends, the total proceeds from the golf tournament in eight years have surpassed $200,000! All proceeds have been used to provide our students with topnotch programming, state-of-the-art facilities, and access to scholarships and awards. A portion of future proceeds will support student facilities and awards through the Shape the World Campaign.

The tournament is one of several community-building events we host each year that bring together students and alumni. Pictured in the two photos below are long-time tournament volunteers Marcia and John Capell with two of our awesome Dons Melissa and AJ.

A New Collaboration with a Ghanaian College

Linda Archer Cornfield, David Cornfield and Grainne Ryder at Ashesi University in GhanaSt. Paul's Distinguished Alumnus David Cornfield (BASc '85) and his wife Linda (pictured left) met with Grainne Ryder (far right, Field Placement Coordinator (at far right), during a recent visit to Ashesi University in Ghana. David and Linda are proud supporters of Ashesi, which was founded by one of their former Microsoft colleagues and have recently helped to arrange partnerships between University of Waterloo and Ashesi.

St. Paul's is involved through a partnership with the Master of Development Practice (MDP) program. The partnership will open up new field placement opportunities for Masters' students.

Tom Stark and Stephen Little, both in the MDP, will complete their for-credit field placement this summer. The students will assist Ashesi's Community Affairs team with several community development projects identified by elders and elected representatives in the adjacent peri-urban community of Berekuso.
