The Waterloo Women’s Impact Network (WWIN) is a community committed to supporting the next generation of women in math and computer science. By investing both time and money, our members have the opportunity to be direct and hands-on with their giving. We are regularly looking for volunteers to engage in our events, connect with other alumni in their communities, or volunteer with our program partners.

Share Your Expertise
Our Director of Women in Computer Science is interested in engaging with alumni to learn more about the diversity programs, events and activities running at their companies. We are always looking to ensure our programming for students is up-to-date and helps prepare them for a changing environment.
WiCS would also like to invite alumni to share their expertise by running a technical workshop, talk or special topic presentation during WiCS Con 2023. WiCS Con is a 1.5-day conference held on a Friday/Saturday in January. Past topics have included how to respond to everyday bias, networking for introverts, making a meaningful impact with data, negotiating your worth, as well as a variety of panel discussions. The conference is designed to engage both local high school students, as well as Waterloo undergraduate students. This conference is run in partnership with WiCS corporate sponsors. Get Involved in Outreach
WiCS Outreach oversees the Waterloo chapter of Technovation Girls, which equips youth aged 10 to 18 with the skills to become tech entrepreneurs and leaders. The chapter includes students from Cambridge, Guelph, Kitchener, Stratford, Waterloo and their surrounding townships. The program runs from January to April each year and is supported by a dedicated team of volunteers.
In Fall 2022, WiCS will begin recruiting volunteer mentors, coaches, speakers, and judges for the 2023 program. All training is provided. WiCS is also looking for local community partners to host a workshop, engage staff to be team mentors, and offer prize experiences for the young women. Technovation Girls is a global organization, with chapters all around the world. Since 2010, more than 34,000 girls from 100+ countries have created apps to solve community problems. We encourage you to sign your daughters up, share this program with a friend, or get involved in the chapter closest to you.
