Life-long friends. Football on the common. Your first Oktoberfest. Surviving mid-terms. Late-night study sessions. Coffee. Laughter. Proud faces in the audience when you crossed that stage to receive your degree.
These are some of the memories that came pouring into our office when we asked you to share your favourite Applied Health Sciences (AHS) stories.
We also heard how proud you are to hold a degree from Waterloo and how your time here helped you become who you are today. Thank you for sharing these beautiful stories.
I hope you’ll now join with other generous AHS alumni to help today’s students have this same experience.
You may not have considered giving before, but the need for scholarships and bursaries is great and growing.
We work very hard to keep education affordable. Even so, in 2017, first-year AHS students faced tuition fees of $7,700. Add in the skyrocketing cost of living in Canada’s rising tech hub, and you’ve got a price tag some families just can’t afford.
At AHS, we need students from all walks of life — not just the privileged few. When you help fund an AHS scholarship or bursary, you level the playing field. You make it possible for students of all means to make their own memories and to carry new Waterloo degrees with pride.
So today I’m asking you to make a donation online or call us at 1-800-408-8715, designating your gift to the AHS Scholarships Fund to make one more beautiful memory: “I gave to someone who needed help. And because of me, someone’s life is better.”
And that’s a memory you can share with pride.
Thank you.
