Question: what do you get when you mix a beautiful tropical garden, with warm ocean breezes and Math alumni?
Answer: a fantastic evening of fun, reminiscing, and great conversation with alumni, guests, and expats in Bermuda! The Dean of Mathematics had a wonderful time talking with many of our Math alumni who now call the island of Bermuda home, and listening to their stories about how they came to live and work in this British colony (which also happens to be one of the largest centres of reinsurance companies in the world).

Over 80 Math Alumni and guests in Hong Kong joined Dean of Mathematics Stephen M. Watt at the Hong Kong Maritime Museum to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Faculty of Mathematics. The night featured Canadian food (including cheeseburgers, poutine, and nanaimo bars), lots of laughing and sharing of memories, and was capped off by a fantastic laser light show courtesy of Hong Kong harbour! It was a great way to share our success, news, and accomplishments with our alumni on the other side of the world!
Putting the soul in Seoul! Alumni joined Senior Advancement Officer Mark Womack at Canuck’s in Seoul, South Korea for an evening get together in May. The Canadian theme restaurant brought back many memories of their time on campus, and what they missed most about Canada (which seemed to focus around good French fries!).
