Another year, another Corneal Cup, as the Unicorneas take the top prize. This past Saturday the team of fourth year optometry students dominated the annual optometry hockey tournament.
The yearly Corneal Cup Optometry Hockey Tournament sponsored by CooperVision, saw teams of students, and even faculty, play from January 12 to 14 in another successful series of matches all for fun. Each team had a wide variety of skill levels, ranging from those who grew up playing the sport to those playing their first game ever.
Saturday’s final saw the Unicorneas take on the Triscleratops. In a close game, where one team would take the lead only momentarily before the other team evened the score, it was not until the last few moments that the Unicorneas cemented their win with a 5-4 lead. Congratulations to the Class of 2023 on being the winning team. As always, this was an enjoyable tournament for all.
