About WaterResearch

WaterResearch is published three times per year by the Water Institute at the University of Waterloo, Canada. Issues contain summaries of high impact scientific articles published by Water Institute faculty members and their students to communicate the results of their cutting-edge, disciplinary and interdisciplinary research. Readers are encouraged to consult the original papers for more in-depth descriptions of research methodologies and results, and for a complete list of contributing authors. 

The University of Waterloo established the Water Institute in 2009 to provide an on-campus network of excellence in water research, education, and innovation. Water Institute researchers represent a wide breadth of expertise with over 160 faculty members from all six University of Waterloo faculties and more than 300 graduate students. The Water Institute is ranked among the world’s top water research organizations.
