Research Interests
Dr. A. Ghannoum enjoys exploring all avenues that improve the environment's and human health. His research interests include system optimization, machine learning, health monitoring devices, lithium-ion batteries, material development, fiber-optic sensors and sensor development.
Research Focus
Dr. A. Ghannoum's recent research has been focused on developing a smart LIB with embedded sensors that monitor internal activities. He studied the phenomenal colour change in graphite electrodes within lithium-ion batteries and worked towards developing a method to embed fiber-optic sensors within pouch-type batteries. This work has also lead to his focus on sensor fabrication, enhancing sensitivity to optical changes and hence improving the performance of embedded sensors.
