Brie specializes in databases, registries, and evidence-based research strategies for science and medicine.

Born and raised in Kitchener-Waterloo, Brie welcomed a return to the region in 2020 to join the team at the Davis Centre Library, University of Waterloo, where she is a research librarian for biology and health and vision sciences.

Brie received a Master’s of Library and Information Science (MLIS) from Western University in 2009. Graduate-work with health sciences information technologies, evidence-based medicine methods, mark-up and metadata, and natural language processing, evolved into 11 years working in clinical research at Western University’s Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, and London Health Sciences Centre, and St. Joseph’s Healthcare London.

Currently, Brie focuses on biodata curation and collections, knowledge synthesis methodologies, and fostering critical reading and research skills to combat predatory science and misinformation.
