Dr. Jonathan Lin received the B. A. Sc., M. A. Sc., and PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo in 2010, 2012, and 2017, respectively, where his research focused on motion tracking using wearable and automated motion segmentation in real-time for rehabilitation clinical applications, His researched used inertial measurement units in conjunction with the Kalman filter to estimate body joint angles, then employed hidden Markov models, machine learning, and optimal control metrics to perform motion segmentation.
Dr. Lin is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the CERC Human-Centred Robotics and Machine Intelligence Lab at the University of Waterloo. His research focuses on the development of human motion capture and modelling, motion quantification in rehabilitation and sports, and applied physiotherapy.
