Welcome to the Skeletal Muscle Biology & Cell Death Laboratory
The focus of the Skeletal Muscle Biology & Cell Death Laboratory is to study the biochemical and molecular mechanisms regulating autophagy and apoptosis in skeletal muscle. In particular, we are interested how mitochondria function and dynamics (biogenesis, mitophagy, fission & fusion, apoptosis) influence skeletal muscle formation, regeneration, adaptation, and function.
