Larry Swatuk is Professor in the School of Environment, Enterprise and Development (SEED). His research interests lie at the intersection of social justice and environmental sustainability. At present he is collaborating with scholars from Brazil, Germany, India, South Africa and Sweden on a research project devoted to exploring the unintended and unanticipated negative consequences resulting from state directed climate action undertaken along green water (e.g. biofuels) and blue water (e.g. hydropower) pathways. Author of, most recently, Water in Southern Africa, Swatuk teaches courses related to environment and development in SEED.
