Ramadan El-Shatshat received a B.Sc. and a M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Garyounis, Benghazi, Libya, in 1984 and 1992, respectively, and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Waterloo in 2001. He is an Associate Professor, Teaching Stream, and the Director of the electric power engineering program in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo. El-Shatshat is a registered professional engineer in the Province of Ontario, Canada.
