I'm an assistant professor of accounting in the School of Accounting and Finance at the University of Waterloo. My broad program of research examines ethical judgments and decision making. In this program of research I often study taxpayers' and tax professionals' ethical judgments and decision making. My research examines topics like how advances in technology, punishment outcomes, and fairness influence tax compliance. I also have a keen interest in ethical issues related to social justice. Here I examine how diversity in teams may influence investor judgments. My original research is publised in outlets such as the Journal of Business Ethics, and Issues in Accounting Education. I currently serve as an editorial board member at Accounting Forum, and Accounting Perspectives. My work has also been featured in the Conversation, and other media outlets.
