Hi! My name is Xuechun and I'm a first-year master student in Statistics!
I was born and raised in Nantong (南通市), China and moved to Vancouver for schools. In Spring 2020, I graduated from University of British Columbia with a BSc in Statistics with a thematic concentration in Economics, and got accepted to SFU finance, McGill Finance and UWaterloo Statistics for grad schools. I chose Statistics in the end because I found myself a growing interest in machine learning after I completed a stats consulting project back at UBC! I'm inspired and eager to dive deeper into it and practice more in this field. Therefore, I'm here!
My research interests are mainly about applications of machine learning (no wonder!) : ) Currently, I'm a research student under the supervision of Dr. Chengguo Weng.
My life motto is "一生懸命" (to the best of one's ability, to try one's utmost hardest).
