New scholarships and awards

We are so grateful to the alumni and friends who have created new opportunities to help more students reach their full potential in academics and beyond. Here are the newest awards and scholarships:

David and Elizabeth Kerr International Experience Award

Awarded to full-time students enrolled in the Faculty of Arts who are participating in an eligible exchange/study abroad program, or an eligible international co-op work term outside of Canada and the U.S. This award has been made possible by a donation from David and Elizabeth Kerr, BA’ 85 and BA’ 87 respectively.

Pat Rowe I-O Psychology Graduate Scholarship

Awarded annually to a graduate student registered full time in the Industrial/Organizational Psychology program in the Department of Psychology. The award has been made possible by donations from former students and family of Professor Pat Rowe.

Traquair Family Scholarship

Awarded to an incoming full-time student enrolled in the Faculty of Arts, excluding the School of Accounting and Finance, and renewable for up to eight terms. Selection is based on academic achievement and financial need. A similar award has been established to support students entering the Faculty of Math. This fund is made possible by a donation from Brian (BMath ’79) and Janis Traquair (BA ’79).

Wendy Mitchinson Graduate Award in History

Awarded to a full-time graduate student registered in the doctoral program in the Department of History who has completed their comprehensive field examinations, and demonstrates interest in gender studies from a historical perspective. The award has been made possible by donations from former students, family, friends, and colleagues of Distinguished Professor Emerita Wendy Mitchinson.

William Medeiros Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in an upper year in the Department of Political Science who demonstrates leadership in extracurricular and/or volunteer activities within the school or community and has an interest in pursuing a career in the legal industry. The award has been made possible by a donation from Will’s aunt, and by donations from family and friends in memory of William Medeiros.
